Exhibition: What is a Safe Space?

2nd September

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until 9th September 2021

An exhibition of digital art by participants from Crisis Skylight Newcastle.

Throughout spring 2021, participants from Crisis Skylight Newcastle worked collaboratively to create digital-based artworks taht focussed on the topics of ‘safe spaces’. This was a difficult subject for many to discuss, considering that everyone participating had experienced homelessness in some way, at some point, in their lives.

Together, the group explored different ways to express themselves, their identities and experiences, both through digital means and creative writing. They explored digital film, photography, sound, collage and language to create a diverse range of artworks.
