Orchestra North East Concert

Orchestra North East Concert is a full symphony orchestra of professional and mostly amateur musicians based around Durham, Newcastle and the North East. Their programme for this concert will be:

• Vaughan Williams: Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis
• Shostakovich: Cello Concerto No. 1
• Dvořák: Symphony No. 8 in G major

Orchestra North East will be joined by Eamonn Dougan, Associate Conductor of The Sixteen, one of the world’s greatest choral ensembles and a conductor with wide international experience in a variety of musical fields.

Guest soloist Christopher Murray has family roots in the North East and is a distinguished member of the award-winning Heath String Quartet, as well as having his own busy international performing and teaching career.
