This ‘Saying Goodbye’ service is one in a series of international remembrance services for people who have lost a child at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy, whether the loss was recent or 80 years ago. In addition, anyone who has never been able to have children for whatever reason is most welcome.
This event is organised by Mariposa International, a non-religious charity that nonetheless values the significance of our nation’s great cathedrals, minsters and abbeys. These historic spaces host some of the most important moments of public life – from coronations and royal weddings to major civic ceremonies – and acts of remembrance deserve an equally prominent place within society.
The services follow an Anglican structure and incorporate secular music, poetry, acts of remembrance, and other reflective elements.
All are welcome, and registering for your place is encouraged but not compulsory. If you require further information, please email office@sayinggoodbye.org.
