Early years

Newcastle Cathedral is an inclusive venue and we welcome people of all ages to explore, play and learn in the Cathedral and our grounds. You don’t need to be quiet when you visit the Cathedral; it’s a space where everyone is welcome. We have a range of free resources specially designed for children and young people available here.

We know that visiting new places can sometimes be a bit stressful and we want to make your visit as easy as possible. You can find more information that will guide you through some of the things you might experience when you visit us here.

If you have questions about visiting, please contact learning@newcastlecathedral.org.uk

Sign up to our Learning Mailing List to keep up to date with our exciting new offers and events for families, nurseries, schools, educators and more.

You don’t need to book to visit but you are welcome to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to book a sensory tour.

Play and Explore

With an abundance of textures, sounds, colours and patterns, we think Newcastle Cathedral is the perfect place to bring your child or Early Years’ group. When you visit, make sure you borrow one of our Baby Play
Baskets, full of engaging, sensory resources, selected especially for our youngest visitors.
