Sign up to our Learning Mailing List to keep up to date with our exciting new offers and events for families, nurseries, schools, educators and more.
Key Stage 3
History and RE
We offer a range of workshops suitable for KS3 students. Workshops last for up to 2 hours and cost £100 per class.
A New Light
Explore the way the building communicates symbolism and meaning in the Christian faith. You will also examine the challenges the modern Church faces in interpreting belief and practice in new ways and what that means for the local community.
History in Action
This session explores how historians and archaeologists make explorations and discoveries, and how they have worked with fascinating historical objects in the Cathedral to find clues which help uncover their secrets.
The Big Build
The Bishop wants to have a new chapel built. Students are challenged to raise the funds to pay the different craftspeople by stepping back in time in this immersive game.
Worship and Practice
Explore Newcastle Cathedral as a place of worship, looking at key artefacts and articles used in worship and meeting key people involved in making worship happen.
Art and Design
Newcastle Cathedral is bursting at the seams with amazing colours, textures and patterns. Filled with sculptures, carvings, paintings and stained-glass windows from celebrated North East artists such as Ralph Hedley and Leonard Evetts, the Cathedral is a wonderful place to spend time making art. Our art workshops use a range of materials and experimental techniques to help students create their own responses to ideas and themes connected to the Cathedral. Each workshop lasts between 1-2 hours and has a cost of £50-£100 per class.
Key Stages 4 & 5
