We are grateful for the help of visiting choirs in enabling choral services to continue when the Cathedral Choir is not in residence. Daily choral worship is at the heart of our ministry, and these choirs’ contribution is a very important part of our work in welcoming people to this holy place.
During the summer of 2023, Newcastle Cathedral welcomed the following visiting choirs.
Wednesday 26, Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 July – The RSCM Millenium Choir
Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 August – Fitzsimons Choir
Sunday 20 August – The Choir of St John’s Church, Ranmoor, Sheffield
Monday 21 – Sunday 27 August – University of London Church Choir
Sunday 3 September (Evensong at 4pm) – Vox Populi
Is your Choir interested in visiting?
When the Cathedral Choir is not in residence, Newcastle Cathedral encourages visiting choirs to volunteer to help lead worship.
Choirs can get in touch to sing at Sunday services, including the Sung Eucharist at 10am and Choral Evensong at 4pm. Choirs also have the opportunity to sing at an extra Evensong on Saturday afternoons, or they can choose to stay for an entire week
This page is updated every Friday with the upcoming music list and service schedule for the week. If a previous week’s services are showing, please click your web address bar and press ‘enter’ to refresh your browser.
