On-site with the Site Foreman

Wednesday 31 March 2021

Tickets for the second of our online panel events – ‘Protecting Our Regional Treasures’, taking place Wednesday 28 April, 6:30pm – are now available

Anthony Short, Site Foreman at Historic Property Restoration Ltd, is one of the speakers participating in this event and will discuss his role in our Common Ground in Sacred Space heritage project.

In this new video, Anthony is interviewed by Project Manager Lindy Gilliland about his work…

On 28 April, Anthony will go into detail about the skills and problem-solving needed on this very special project – from moving over 150 one tonne ledger stones to laying a complex network of underground heating.

He will be joined by Dr David Carrington (Founder and Managing Director at conservation firm Skillington Workshop) and Dan Rose (Designer and Director at Raskl: a company based in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley that has created the Cathedral’s new liturgical furniture).

Tickets are still available for the first event – ‘Turning a Dream Into Reality’ next Wednesday, 7 April at 6:30pm. Spaces are limited, so we advise that you book in advance, to avoid disappointment.

These events are hosted on a Pay As You Feel basis, with a mandatory fee of £1 to attend. We would be very grateful if you are in a position to donate more; a minimum donation of £5 is recommended as a guide.

Newcastle Cathedral’s National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Common Ground in Sacred Space is due for completion in summer 2021.
