The Cathedral offers a wealth of events and activities throughout the year which you can view on our ‘Whats On’ page. Our monuments, stained-glass windows and ledger stones tell vivid stories of Newcastle’s heritage and the Cathedral’s deep history which you can read about through the interpretation around the Cathedral.

Café 16
Open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm, Café 16 in the Cathedral Refectory offers delicious fresh food and refreshments and a variety of coffees, teas and cold drinks.

In our new retail space, we’re proud to support and showcase work created by a range of talented North East artists and creators.
Access information
We are a wheelchair and pushchair accessible building. However, because of their age, some areas of the Cathedral have limited access.
