Dragon’s Lair – Community Exhibition

Friday 29 July – Monday 5 September 2022

Newcastle Cathedral is home to an assortment of curious creatures and brilliant beasts. This summer, the Cathedral will be home to a special visitor: an adorable baby dragon. Pupils from the Great North Children’s Hospital Newcastle Bridges School have worked with us to create some amazing art which will bring colour to the dragon’s home.

Hidden Stories: We Are the Pelicans

Friday 9 September – Monday 28 November 2022

Working with artist Shiori Naruse, a group of women who have accessed the services provided by Changing Lives have created a series of print-based artworks responding to some of the hidden stories and themes in the Cathedral. This thought-provoking exhibition takes particular consideration of themes such as motherhood, gender and identity.

Family Tour: We’re Going on a Dragon Hunt

Every Wednesday in August, 11-11.30am

Recommended for ages 2-8 years

Join us for a fun-filled tour through the Cathedral where we hunt for dragons, practice our dragon calls and create some colourful treasure, before ending with storytime.
