National Cathedrals Conference

As we host this major conference, the Cathedral will be closed to the public from Saturday 14 – Thursday 19 May. We’ll remain open for some worship services and for The Late Shows on Saturday 14 May, 7-11pm.

Dare You Climb the Tower?

In these one-hour guided tours, you will discover unique and fascinating stories about the history and people of Newcastle. After climbing the 162 steps, you’ll be met with breathtaking panoramic views.

Every Monday, 2-2.30pm

Uncover your inner artist through drawing and making, whilst discussing some of the incredible artworks that can be found in Newcastle Cathedral.

No creative is experience required and these tours are suitable for all ages. You don’t need to pre-book; simply meet your Guide at the Font.

Family Tours

Every Tuesday during school holidays, 2-2.30pm

Join us to explore secret spaces, try on special robes, hunt for dragons, and make amazing art.

These 30-minute interactive tours have been designed especially for children and their grown-ups.

These tours are recommended for ages 3-11 but suitable for all.

Clergy-led Tours

Every Thursday, 2-2:30pm 

You’re invited to join a member of the Cathedral clergy for this informal and personalised tour of the Cathedral.

Learn about the people behind the Cathedral, the memories it holds and life in a contemporary church.
