DESCRIPTION:This Advent and Christmas\, we are delighted to present a collection of work by last year’s cohort of first-year Visual Communication and Digital Culture students from Northumbria University. \nDrawing inspiration from the story at the heart of Christmas\, the students have explored the themes and meanings of the story to create thoughtful\, contemporary visual responses. \nWhatever your own perspective – believing\, unbelieving\, or differently believing – we hope this exhibition enriches your reflections within this Cathedral space. \nThe annual Northumbria University Carol Service will take place at the Cathedral on Monday 15 December. \nNorthumbria University Carol Service 2025

SUMMARY:Advent Course 2025: ‘Coming of the Saviour’
DESCRIPTION:In the weeks leading up to and during Advent\, you are warmly invited to join our ‘Coming of the Saviour’ Advent Course\, based on resources developed by Cindy Bunch. Over these sessions\, we will explore the familiar story of Christ’s birth in new and thought-provoking ways. \nThe course runs on both Thursdays and Sundays\, and participants may choose to attend either the Thursday or the Sunday session. \nThis year’s sessions will take place: \n\nThursdays from 13 November\, 10:45 am – 12 pm\nSundays from 16 November\, 11:45 am – 1 pm\n\nEach session lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. \nPlease note: Spaces are limited for all sessions. If you would like to join\, please email Ruth\, our Canon for Worship & Congregational Life\, so that we can plan accordingly. You will then receive instructions on where to meet and the location of each session within the Cathedral.
