SUMMARY:WAITING LIST - NE1's Search for Santa
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, NE1 welcomes families to participate in this tremendously popular sell-out event. Children collect their maps\, pencils and Santa hats before going on their adventure. Following the map\, families complete the clues across the city\, filling out the answers which give them a chance of winning a series of fantastic prizes with local businesses. \nWith stops on the way\, children can get creative at the craft checkpoints before continuing the trail. \nEnding at Newcastle Cathedral\, enjoy a wholesome and free day for the children to enjoy. There is always a merry atmosphere in the Cathedral\, and lots to do\, including face-painting\, storytelling\, creative sections and a hot chocolate station with whipped cream and marshmallows\, as well as the chance to meet the main man himself\, Santa Claus! \nWe’re pleased that NE1 will be joining forces this year with the wonderful team from Olive & Bean\, who will be running a ‘decorate your own cookie’ station in the Cathedral. Before leaving\, each child is given a free goodie bag full of Christmas treats. \nHow to take part \nIt’s completely free to take part in Search for Santa\, but you must have tickets pre-booked. This year\, you can get Search for Santa tickets from 12pm on Monday 4 November via the NE1 website.  You’ll be able to reserve tickets for a maximum of four children – be quick\, though\, as spaces move fast! \nPlease note: This event is organised by the NE1 Business Improvement District\, not Newcastle Cathedral. For any questions\, please contact NE1 directly through their website.

SUMMARY:Illuminated Sheep Evenings - 'Dreaming of Electric Sheep' - Urban Adventure Finale
DESCRIPTION:Having lit up some of the region’s most iconic landmarks\, experience ‘Illuminated Sheep’ in the Cathedral’s historic nave! \nCreated by artist Deepa Mann-Kler\, the flock of 30 life-sized sheep was inspired by the Lindisfarne Gospels’ themes of light and pilgrimage. Their travels have seen them lit up in bright colours at some of the region’s most iconic locations\, including Alnwick Garden\, Bamburgh Castle\, Hexham Abbey\, Vindolanda and Woodhorn Museum\, as well as further from home at the Bradford is Lit light festival. \nAcross three evenings\, immerse yourself in the ‘ewe-nique’ experience of getting up close with the sheep. While here\, you can enjoy refreshments in Café 16\, watch short films\, and engage in ‘baa-brilliant’ sheep-themed craft activities! \n‘Illuminated Sheep’ was commissioned by Northumberland County Council and developed and managed by Queen’s Hall Arts and the Hexham Culture Network. It was part of the Cultural Programme of Hexham High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) and funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority\, now the new North East Combined Authority. \nThis event will operate on a timed slot basis\, with bookings available from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. You are welcome to stay however long you wish; however\, the last entry is at 7:45pm and the building will close by 8:30pm.
