Our task is to communicate experience and ideas to others.”– Niels Bohr\, Nobel Prize Winner \nPride Month\, celebrated each June\, is a vibrant and inclusive time to honour the LGBTQI+ community – their history\, achievements\, and continued journey toward equality. \nAt Newcastle Cathedral\, we celebrate the significance of the Pride movement and its lasting impact on our shared cultural and social fabric. Our returning exhibition\, running throughout the summer and beyond Newcastle Pride weekend (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July\, presented by Northern Pride)\, explores the deep connection between language and identity. \nAs part of the Pride Fringe programme\, we’re thrilled to welcome Northern Proud Voices – the North East’s largest and longest-running LGBTQI+ community choir – for an uplifting evening of pop and rock favourites. \nJoin us on Friday 4 July at 7pm for a joyful celebration of music and community. DESCRIPTION:Royal Northern Sinfonia and their Artistic Partner Maria Włoszczowska return to Newcastle Cathedral with the ultimate summer evening soundtrack. \nThree centuries after they were composed\, Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’ sounds as fresh and tuneful as ever – the birdsong of Spring\, the downpours of Summer\, the celebrations of Autumn\, and the icy shiver of Winter. \nAlso on the set list are lively\, dazzling dances by Sándor Veress\, Edvard Grieg and Nikos Skalkottas. \nPlease note: \n\nAn external organisation hosts this concert\, and booking fees may apply.\nTicket queries should be directed via The Glasshouse website.\nFor wheelchair/access bookings\, please visit The Glasshouse website for instructions on how to register to join their Access Scheme or phone the Box Office on 0191 443 4661.\n\nEvents like this help raise funds to maintain this beautiful cathedral\, continue our charitable work and keep our doors open for all.

Your support helps us maintain the Cathedral\, continue our charitable work\, and keep the doors open for all. \nPre-booking is not compulsory; however\, please be aware that each tour has limited spaces available.  \nPlease note: In the event of bad weather\, an indoor History Tour may be offered as an alternative\, subject to the availability of indoor space on the day.
