SUMMARY:We Depend on Our Words - Pride Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:“What is it that we human beings ultimately depend on? We depend on our words. We are suspended in language. Our task is to communicate experience and ideas to others.”– Niels Bohr\, Nobel Prize Winner \nPride Month\, celebrated each June\, is a vibrant and inclusive time to honour the LGBTQI+ community – their history\, achievements\, and continued journey toward equality. \nAt Newcastle Cathedral\, we celebrate the significance of the Pride movement and its lasting impact on our shared cultural and social fabric. Our returning exhibition\, running throughout the summer and beyond Newcastle Pride weekend (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July\, presented by Northern Pride)\, explores the deep connection between language and identity. \nAs part of the Pride Fringe programme\, we’re thrilled to welcome Northern Proud Voices – the North East’s largest and longest-running LGBTQI+ community choir – for an uplifting evening of pop and rock favourites. \nJoin us on Friday 4 July at 7pm for a joyful celebration of music and community. Click below to find out more. \nhttps://newcastlecathedral.org.uk/event/northern-proud-voices-celebration-concert-2025/
