With the help of our wonderful volunteers, the Cathedral’s retail space has been transformed for the season, with its Advent and Christmas stock rolling out from 31 October.
🕙 Opening hours: Monday–Saturday, 10am–4pm (subject to events and volunteer/staff availability), with additional times to be added during Advent.
It’s a joy to showcase our amazing partners, including two exciting new suppliers…

Our Christmas card range has been enhanced by a new partnership with Embrace the Middle East, a UK-based charity working with Christians across the Middle East – from Syria to Palestine – to restore dignity and create opportunity for marginalised communities.
Among the designs now available are two stunning works by celebrated Palestinian Christian artist Sliman Mansour: The Divine Light (pictured) and Palestinian Heritage.
Each purchase supports life-changing projects across the Middle East.

We’re also delighted to introduce Other Lovely Things – a small business dedicated to sustainability and design. Their handcrafted Angel Wings and Star Decorations, made from repurposed steel and aluminium, are perfect for those who value sustainability as well as style.

Just in time for Advent, we have the upcoming release of the Newcastle Cathedral Choir’s new CD, ‘O Nata Lux: Music for Advent, Christmas & Epiphany’. Available from Saturday 30 November, it features a beautiful selection of seasonal choral works – an ideal gift or a perfect soundtrack during the festive period.
When booking tickets for the Cathedral Choir’s ‘Candlelit Carols’ on Wednesday 17 or Monday 22 December, you can order a copy of the CD for just £10 (regular price will be £12.99).

This year’s collection again includes hand-blown Peace Lights in blue and turquoise alongside our ever-popular range of colourful glass baubles. Each piece is hand-blown by Muslims, hand-painted by Christians, and shipped from Israel, representing collaboration across faiths and communities.

Local design company Rip and Snip return with their distinctive decorations celebrating much-loved North East landmarks, including the Angel of the North, the Tyne Bridge, Newcastle Cathedral and the city’s mysterious Vampire Rabbit!

Introduced last year, our handmade St Nicholas decoration celebrates the Cathedral’s patron saint and was a particular favourite among members of the Friends of St Nicholas members. We’re sure it’ll prove just as popular this season.

Our Fairtrade seedpod birds are handcrafted in Zimbabwe from fallen Ulumbu tree pods. Each is hand-painted and unique, created in partnership with artisan communities and the Fairtrade brand founded by Tom Hawes.
Every purchase helps sustain the Cathedral’s work as a registered charity. Whether you’re searching for a Fairtrade nativity, a locally inspired ornament, or an eco-conscious decoration, you’ll find something that reflects the true spirit of giving – right here at the only cathedral in the UK dedicated to St Nicholas!
Wishing you blessings and season’s greetings from all our retail team.
