Volunteering at Newcastle Cathedral isn’t just about saying hello and sharing information. It’s about sharing what makes the Cathedral special to us with all our visitors.
Newcastle Cathedral Choir is renowned for high standards of music within the liturgy. It consists of two separate and independent choirs of young singers (trebles) – up to 24 boys and 24 girls.
The Friends of St Nicholas receive regular newsletters which outline recent and proposed developments. Outings and events provide opportunities for Friends to get together and share mutual interests.
Rooted in prayer and action, Mothers’ Union was adopted early on by Newcastle Diocese. Every first Thursday of the month, Midday Prayers are led in Newcastle Cathedral by Mothers’ Union members.
Find out moreToday, the bells at Newcastle are rung by the Newcastle Guild, members of the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Association of Change Ringers. They are all volunteers and range in age from 20s to 93.
