Get in the Christmas spirit with an intimate evening of carol singing at Newcastle Cathedral, surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight. The Cathedral’s resident Choir will sing a host of popular carols and timeless Christmas songs perfectly timed ahead of the big day.
This enchanting performance will showcase the immense talent of our professional Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars alongside the youthful voices of the Cathedral Choristers.
Due to its overwhelming popularity in recent years, this event will take place twice in the days leading up to Christmas – first on Friday 15 December and again on Wednesday 20 December.
Refreshments will be available at this event, with proceeds supporting the Cathedral’s Music department, ensuring the enduring legacy of its rich choral tradition.
You will also be able to buy ‘A Year at Newcastle’, the Choir’s forthcoming CD, due to be released by Regent Records in early December.
This event is inspired by the Church of England’s 2023 ‘Follow the Star: Join the Song’ campaign, highlighting how the power of singing and listening to singing can draw us closer to God and each other through the journey from Advent to Epiphany.
