In this workshop led by studio potter Amy Rutherford, children will have the opportunity to make their own creations straight from their imagination using air-dry clay.
This is an informal, child-led workshop. Children are encouraged to go where their creativity takes them, with support on hand if required. Clay is naturally tactile, so it enables children of any age to develop their dexterity and learn new skills. It’s lots of fun, too!
Children will each be given 500g of clay and be able to choose from a selection of items to enhance their creation, such as pipe cleaners, sequins, and beads. Material is provided to get the ideas flowing, and then it’s time to get squidging and sculpting those ideas to life!
Children will be able to take their creations away on the day, and once dry, they can be painted at home, providing an additional activity!
Please note:
Events such as this help raise funds to maintain Newcastle Cathedral, continue our charitable work and keep our doors open for all.
