Farmyard animals have long been a source of inspiration in art, folklore and religious texts – not to mention idioms, rhymes and peculiar superstitions!
This October, in the lead-up to our Harvest Festival, Newcastle Cathedral presents a series of events exploring the wonders and realities of rural life. In this fascinating talk, folklore blogger and podcaster Icy Sedgwick will offer a fascinating glimpse into our extraordinary and enchanting encounters with animal life beyond the confines of the farmyard.
Join Icy for a presentation focusing on the captivating and curious ways in which animals feature in our cultural tapestry, leaving a lasting hoofprint on our imagination and beliefs.

Tickets are available on a ‘Give As Ewe Feel’ basis (£7 suggested). Your generosity enables us to continue programming events like this, maintain our beautiful building, continue our charitable work and keep the doors open for all.
