SEE US IN A NEW LIGHT
Our services online
We are delighted to be able to offer some Cathedral worship and a series of reflections and prayers online to help us to worship together at this difficult time.
Worship for the Second Sunday of Advent goes live on our YouTube Channel at 10am on Sunday 6 December- https://tinyurl.com/NclCathedral. Join us to worship God in words, music and imagery. Followed by online coffee and conversation, accessed via: tinyurl.com/cathedralcoffee. We hope that you can join us online.
“Hope in Time of Darkness” – Worship for the First Sunday of Advent, 29 November 2020 – available now on YouTube. Join us to worship God in words, music and imagery as we mark the beginning of the new Church year – a time for taking stock, and for new beginnings. The choir sings Langlais and Byrd. The preacher is the Dean of Newcastle.
The Cathedral’s Sunday morning worship, which can be followed here: https://tinyurl.com/NclCathedral, is now also available to listen to, for those who do not have internet access, for the cost of a local phonecall. The number to ring is 0191 814 4142 and each week’s service will be uploaded by 12 noon every Sunday. Please pass this number on to anyone who might value it.

Virtual Church Choir
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Canon for Music and Liturgy, has brought together a “Virtual Church Choir” of volunteer singers from churches across the region.
Recording their voices remotely, at home, they are being mixed together to provide three or four hymns each week for use in the Cathedral’s online worship – and by anyone else who would find them useful.
The “Virtual Church Choir” recordings can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/VirtualChurchChoir
New tracks will be added to this folder as they are recorded each week – usually on a Saturday morning. Some will also come as a set of Powerpoint slides that can be used if you “share screen” in a Zoom service.
Anyone, of any denomination, is welcome to download and use them as long as they have the appropriate copyright licenses. We hope you find them useful.
