Petertide Ordinations 2025 – Ordination of Priests

The Petertide Ordinations for the Diocese of Newcastle take place around St Peter’s Day. These services mark the initiation of new deacons into the journey of priesthood and the ordination of priests.
This year’s priests will be ordained on Saturday 28 June and Tuesday 1 July, and we will welcome this year’s deacons on Sunday 29 June.
Our soon-to-be deacons will serve their titles in parishes across our Diocese. The new priests who began ordained ministry as deacons last year will continue to serve their existing parishes as curates.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to the ordinands, their loved ones, and members of the parishes and communities in which they will serve.
This service will also be live-streamed via the Cathedral’s YouTube channel (see below).
