Poet and Cellist Kenneth Wilson is undertaking a 2,000-mile bicycle pilgrimage around all 42 English Anglican cathedrals, performing a Meditation on the Seven Last Words of Jesus.
Newcastle Cathedral is the first stop on this extraordinary journey, falling during the Church’s observation of Easter, culminating with the Feast of Pentecost in June.
The Meditation consists of JS Bach’s beautiful solo cello music, interspersed with poems of reflection on Jesus’ last words from the cross.
The performance will last around 50 minutes. Entry is free, with a retiring collection.
Please come and listen to the performance of the Meditation on the Seven Last Words and hear about Kenneth’s extraordinary pilgrimage with his cello on his bike.
