In anticipation of our Harvest Festival (Sunday 20 October, 10am) and the ‘Illuminated Sheep’ full flock display by artist Deepa-Mann Kler (Tuesday 22 – Thursday 24 October), we invite families to a sheep-themed family fun day!
Take part in craft activities, watch demonstrations from the Tynedale Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, and meet real farmyard animals – all while surrounded by the flock of 30 soon-to-be-illuminated Sheep!

Artist Amy Rutherford will lead a workshop, ‘Make your own Sheep-Themed Mug’, from 11am-1pm. Limited places are available for £32 per person. The rest of the ‘Sheep Fest’ Family Fun Day will be FREE to attend.

This event is inspired by the ‘Illuminated Sheep’ artwork, commissioned by Northumberland County Council and developed and managed by Queen’s Hall Arts and the Hexham Culture Network. It was part of the Cultural Programme of Hexham High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) and funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority, now the new North East Combined Authority.
