Come and celebrate Holy Cross Day with our newly returned Cathedral Choir, as they sing for their second week of term at Sung Eucharist.
For Christians, the cross – once a brutal instrument of torture and execution – has been transformed into a sign of hope. It speaks not of defeat, but of Christ’s life-giving sacrifice, offering forgiveness, redemption and the promise of eternal life. What was once a tree of death becomes for us the tree of life.
Across the Christian world, this day is marked with joy and thanksgiving – quite different in tone from the solemnity of Good Friday – as we honour the holy cross and all it represents.
This service will also be live-streamed via our YouTube channel (see below).
