SEE US IN A NEW LIGHT
Volunteer with us
A Cathedral for Everyone
Volunteering at Newcastle Cathedral isn’t just about saying hello, handing out information and selling souvenirs.
It’s about being part of an ever-expanding group of passionate people who ensure that everyone is encouraged and empowered to find their space in our wonderful building.
It’s about sharing what makes the Cathedral special to us with all our visitors.
“The encounters I have as a Cathedral volunteer have taught me more about people than any school lesson ever has. I continue to learn so much from this special place.”
“The Cathedral is somewhere I can spend time just being me. When I come in, I really look forward to having a good old chinwag with regulars and new visitors.”
“It’s very rewarding and fulfilling to volunteer here. I’m enormously proud to be able to pass on my knowledge about the history of the Cathedral and its place within the city.”
“Volunteering with my mum here is something I really value and enjoy. It’s developing my skillset and I feel like I’m giving something back to the community.”
